In today’s world, Obesity and metabolism conditions affect the majority of people. In 2020, it was found out that obesity affected around 15 percent of adults all over the world. To counter this, many exercises, diet plans, workout routines, supplements have emerged recently, and one of them is the Ketogenic diet, whose basis is limiting the intake of carbohydrates.

KETO DIET – The EPITOME OF WEIGHT LOSS DIET

It’s no secret that the ketogenic diet for weight loss is one of the most effective fat burning methods out there. It works by shifting the body into a state of ketosis, which occurs within a week after an individual has dramatically reduced (or completely eliminated) carbohydrates from their diet. By reducing carbohydrates, the body no longer burns these carbs as an energy source. Instead, the liver begins producing ketones which signals to the body to begin burning existing fat stores. This creates an environment for accelerated fat loss that can be seen within mere days or weeks. It’s no wonder that the keto diet is used regularly as a treatment for obesity and has also been linked to the improvement of many common health conditions such as pre-diabetes, inflammatory diseases, epilepsy, metabolic syndrome, and more.

A keto diet is generally high in protein, moderate in fats and low in carbs. That forms the basis if this diet which helps the body and brain very efficient at burning fat and ketones for fuel, instead of carbs. The ketogenic diet also lowers insulin levels, which can be beneficial for improving insulin sensitivity and blood sugar management.

Foods to consider in Keto Diet: Meat, fish, butter, eggs, cheese, heavy cream, oils, nuts, avocados, seeds, low carb vegetables.

Foods to prevent: Grains, rice, beans, potatoes, sweets, milk, cereals, fruits and some higher carb vegetables

Is Keto Diet actually Effective?

There are solid evidence in the medical world suggesting keto diet is the most effective for weight loss in patients. Researches throughout the globe shows good evidence of a faster weight loss when patients go on a ketogenic or very low carbohydrate diet compared to participants on a more traditional low-fat diet, or even a Mediterranean diet. However, that difference in weight loss seems to disappear over time.
